Description
As a Divisional Microbiologist, you will be supporting the Medical Division of a well established Medical Device Company, for a variety of areas of applied industrial microbiology. This position will include hands on microbiology as well as providing technical expertise and guidance to multiple manufacturing and product development teams. Tasks may include those applicable to manufacturing environments, product sterilization processes, water systems, environmental microbiology, bacterial biofilms, and clinical health. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Some travel will be required.
Qualifications
Minimum of BS degree in Microbiology or other biological science. Masters/PhD in microbiology or related degree is preferred. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in microbiological related role in the medical industry is required. Preferred experience in applied industrial microbiology with a focus on implantable medical devices is desirable. Person must have working knowledge of compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines (FDA, GMP, GLP), and standard test methodology. The candidate must have the ability to learn and develop new microbiology techniques and procedures. Knowledge of bacterial biofilms and their relationship to both medical and environmental applications is preferable. Candidate must be flexible and adapt well to change. He or she must work effectively with diverse groups of people, including scientist, manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and regulatory associates. Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be effective working with small teams, larger divisional/corporate teams and outside vendors/scientific groups.
Applicant must be able to pass a background screening. Must have the legal and ongoing authority to work in the US.
